Sermon by Rev. Benjie Djin

Hid Treasure, the principle is “whatever you treasure you keep”, these are things that we have hid and as a result of it being a treasure to use and therefore we keep. Same way any sin that we hide, we keep, that’s why when Jesus came, He said roll away the stone, meaning open up that which you have hidden, so He may be our resurrection and take away that mess or shame.

There are habits that we form, due to circumstances that we face, and overtime these habits become a part of us, and when we come into Christ, we are to let go of these “treasures”.

  • We all need a support system. God created the coordinates of life to keep us in Him, and missing any of these can be detrimental to my destiny. One of the most critical coordinates is friendship. The Bible says “Woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up” Eccl.4:9 God has friends, Abraham had friends, Job had friends. A person who doesn’t have friends is ungodly. The institution of friendship is flawless, our choices of friends is the problem. The importance of people in my life is based on my direction or purpose and destiny in life. My destiny is the selector, of my friends, my wife and everyone around me. Proverbs 27:6 “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Friends are people who are close and based on that closeness, when you are wrong are able to call you out on and straighten you on.
  • Take heed how you hear what you hear. The disciples after Jesus had feed 5000 people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread, when Jesus said “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees” in Mark 8:15 and the disciples took it as scolding for not carry bread with them, because of their guilt. Their guilt became the cornerstone through which they heard Jesus. This is why righteousness is so important. Righteousness is the only light that God expects us to view His word through, and the only way to to stay conscious of my righteousness is to have a tender heart. A tender heart get illuminated whenever it views and studies the word of God. That is why God despite our maturity tells us to “keep our hearts with all diligence”, because a tender heart immature person, will mature eventually because he would get enlightened by the word by and by, but a person with a hardened heart is made irrelevant by the state of his heart. Your maturity is made irrelevant by the state of your heart.

The Bible says “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Here Jesus declares himself as the way to

John 3:3 & 5

“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God….” “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

1 Corinthians 11:19
